El Guáimaro by José Martí: stately and beautiful town where the big fire burned (+ Photos)

February, 2021.- Since Camagüey did not know the Villa of Santa María del Puerto del Príncipe, today, the Apostle of Cuban Independence, José Martí Pérez, did not visit Guáimaro, a beautiful city that entered the glory and sacrifice of the Homeland, cradle of the First Constitution in Arms, but he did write deep and heartfelt poetic prose on the easternmost of the Camagüey’s municipalities.

En ocasión del 24 de febrero: El artesano y El Guajiro, Héroe de la campiña cubana (+Fotos)

Camagüey, Cuba: El artesano artista camagüeyano Nelson Luís Tornés Verdugo recurre una y otra vez en sus obras de cerámicas a la figura del Guajiro (del arahuaco antillano significa señor, hombre poderoso), publicó el portal nacional de la UNEAC .

Está vez, Nelson Luís Tornés, en ocasión del 24 de febrero de 1895 (reinicio de las guerras para no dejar morir el espíritu independentista cubano), modela en barro un campesino amante de la tierra y los animales.

Conectado a través del celular con el mundo, también deviene continuador de tradiciones de aquel hombre de campo que se incorporó a las tropas mambisas contra el colonialismo español. Leer el resto de esta entrada »
