Camagüey, Cuba, Nov. 28.- The Eterno Comandante exhibition is available to viewers at the Ignacio Agramonte Provincial Museum, in the city of Camagüey, in homage to the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, in the context of the fourth anniversary of his physical disappearance.
Ms. C Odalys Sánchez Cañete, director of the institution, revealed to the website of the National Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC) that the valuable sample came to them through Eusebio Leal and the Office of the Historian of Havana two ago years.
The inauguration of the Eterno Comandante exhibition also included the panel Culture in the early years of the Revolution, with the participation of Doctors of Science Luis Álvarez Álvarez (National Prize for Literature) and Olga García Yero; driven by Ms.C. Aracely Aguiar Blanco.
Likewise, the sample of the museologist Maileny García was presented, referring to the support given by the Provincial Museum at the beginning of the revolutionary triumph when Mario Aquiles Betancourt – in front of the Board – demonstrated a defined position of support for the triumphant revolutionary government through a public letter addressed to Fidel, and pieces that were donated by the Rebel Army were shown.
Directors of the Culture system in the province, sector specialists, professors from the University of Camagüey, students from the Vicentina de la Torre Academy of Arts, among others, attended the opening of the exhibition.
The actions are also part of the program of activities for the 65th anniversary of the founding of the Ignacio Agramonte Provincial Museum, to be commemorated on December 23. (Translated by Linet Acuña Quilez)
