COVID-19 lurks and Trump laughs in the faces of those who suffer

October, 2020.- The United States reached the figure of 7,444,000 confirmed cases of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus and 211,000 deaths from COVID-19 on Wednesday, according to the independent count from Johns Hopkins University.

As the health situation in the northern nation worsens – currently aggravated by the new coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 – the presidential candidates of that country, Joe Biden and Donald Trump, face an embarrassing debate and discredit.

The most important thing in that country is not to find the solution to stop the contagion, when it already exceeds such a high number or the more than 206 thousand deaths from COVID-19, but how to take power in the White House.

The epidemic has spread throughout the country: among the most affected cities are New York, with around 24,000 deaths; New Jersey, more than 16,000; Texas and California with more than 15 thousand; and Florida above 14 thousand. The states of Massachusetts, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Georgia are also included among the most affected states.

A US citizen from the health sector – who asked not to be identified – sent a letter to this editor stating “the terrible lack of response here. The people of Cuba are very fortunate that the leadership exercises such a positive, quick and science-based approach. Here is the tragedy ”.

The sender lives in her home a very sad situation, “I had to beg for my test request to be approved. Tried since Friday. The hospital where I work told me there is not enough evidence.

I finally got approval for being basically ruthless and a pain in the ass. Tried going to testing centers 50 miles away.

Those that are free do not have supplies, those that cost 100 dollars are open. I learned today that I was positive for COVID-19 because the Health department called my husband, not me. My doctor has not contacted me.

I am fortunate compared to many in this country and I have the ability, intelligence, money, language skills, resources, etc. to navigate our healthcare system.

So many people would not have been able or eligible to get tested. Those people would be working out of necessity and exposing others.

That is why this country is completely unable to control the spread. I am very happy to know about Cuba because I know that you will be safe. Meanwhile, my symptoms are very mild, absolutely minimal. And my husband is stable ”.

Americans are suffering the consequences of Covid, while the two candidates are only interested in occupying the throne without worrying about what happens in their environment.

“The two candidates to lead this country are not in a position to do so. Her behavior on the stage of the debate was childish. Worse than that, it was a mockery of the nation.

The country has been limping for four long years under the gaze of a narcissistic and greedy man (Donald Trump). It has taken away the rights of our citizens, it denies climate change. He has laughed at the faces of people who suffer.

He is racist, misogynistic, lacks basic empathy and morals. So of course I would never vote for such a despicable human being, but the other candidate does not possess the skills to save this sinking ship.
