Camagüey, Cuba, Jul 19.- The bases of the future Camagüey Celiac Association (ACECAMAG), were approved by nearly fifty members of the organization that groups patients, family members, health professionals, technicians from the Ministry of Agriculture and communicators, which aims to improve the quality of life of people with a genetic predisposition.
ACECAMAG, methodically attended by the Ministry of Public Health, is led by peasant Liliana Bacallao González and specialist Norbys Hidalgo Álvarez, along with Yurisleidys Pardo Ortega, Hewades Labrada Pérez and Talia de la Caridad Morales.
The governing board of the future Association of celiacs of Camagüey is also made up of members Raidel Sanz Otero, Yosbanys Rojas Peláez, Yoan Luis Trujillo Pérez, Gelsis Olazábal Vidal, Ana Reyes Socarrás and Marlenis Labrada.
It was reported that the Council of Scientific Societies in the Agramontine province, also in charge of the care of the future ACECAMAG, is an advisory body that brings together all the medical specialties of the health sector, with 49 chapters that respond to different specialties, backed by law 54 of the Ministry of Justice.
The gastroenterology chapter aims to lead a multidisciplinary consultation to follow up on celiac patients, a disease with systemic components that can affect the entire human organism in its entire functioning. In addition, it is proposed, with the participation of different health specialists, the training of the members of the project, both for patients and family members.
ACECAMAG will seek an interrelation from the social and scientific point of view to improve the quality of life of patients in pediatric and adult age, with the experience of its associates and health professionals.
The province of Camagüey has the La Liliana agroecological and forestry farm of the Camilo Cienfuegos Credit and Services Cooperative (CCS), of the Livestock Company Triángulo 5, in the municipality of Jimaguayú, initiative of the peasant Liliana Bacallao, in which dissimilar foods are obtained for celiac patients.
