July, 2020.- The Greater Antilles is among the few nations in the world that reopens borders to international tourism, mainly in the northern and southern cays, as a result of the intense work carried out in the country to confront and control the Covid-19, according to the encouraging information provided by the Ministry of Public Health of the Caribbean island.

Currently 14 of the 15 provinces of the country and the special municipality of Isla de la Juventud are going through the first phase of recovery. Actions are being carried out in Havana to join the territories from tomorrow without active cases of the disease.

Since June 18, reservations have been made for the internal market in tourist facilities and in the bases of Popular Campismo in the interior, except the capital,

Especially the smokeless industry opens to foreign tourists in the Sabana-Camagüey archipelago, to the north of the island and Cayo Largo, to the south; where “all economic, social and aesthetic needs are met”, while “cultural integrity, essential ecological processes, biological diversity and life support systems” are respected, as indicated by the United Nations Program for the development.

In Cuba, in accordance with the protection protocols of the World Health Organization (WHO), the World Tourism Organization (ILO) and the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP), three phases of the recovery of Covid-19 are planned. . (Photo: autor)(Translated by Linet Acuña Quilez)
