May, 2020.-When Gabino Anselmo Pérez, then Head of Human Resources of the Fishing and Industrial Combine of Santa Cruz del Sur included me in the office for my trips to the fishing areas in the Jardines de la Reina archipelago, I was aware that they would be achieved two objectives: journalistic coverage and reinforcement to crews.
Enrolling as one more crew member, was a procedure of my whole life, long before dedicating myself professionally to what Gabriel García Márquez considered the best job in the world. A teaching I learned in my training as a sponge cultivation specialist at the Fishing School in Eastern Havana and in my childhood.
I don’t like at all to sit with my arms crossed while those men hardened by the sun, the saltpeter and the humidity are engulfed in their tasks in the harsh mornings. I supported them in the selection of shrimp by size. The other species are also used for the manufacture of fishmeal. ( Leer más en esta entrada)

May, 2020.- Early in the morning, with the first crows of the roosters, Armando Suárez says goodbye to his wife and children to set sail on the high seas. The little ones, sleepy, return kisses and hugs to the fisherman.
For more than 200 days, out of the 365 that the year has, he has nostalgia for the space left by that loved one who is exposed to winds and tides. Longing for the heat of everyday life. The family feels the weight of absence.
Very close to the waters of the Caribbean was the home, just 50 meters from the shore, built with boards of aground boats on the southern coasts, until they moved to a new apartment three kilometers from the shore.
In Playa Bonita was the framework of the old house devastated by Hurricane Paloma and in the port, the skeleton of a ferro-cement, which hundreds of times broke the waves of the Jardines de la Reina with the keel. (Leer más en esta entrada)

May, 2020.-Under the strong Caribbean sun two men move in a shack through the blue green waters of the Twelve Leagues.
In the sea, the heat of the sun, in the bodies of these two men, is felt even more than on land. The traditional chapingorro [2], after the lifting of each ban on lobster, is the main art of fishing.
While one is rowing the other fisherman holds firmly in his hand the ham made of nylon ropes tied to a long pole.
He leans at the stern of the shack [3] and with the glass bottom cube of magnification looks in the cache, in the depths of the labyrinth, for lobster. He finds nothing, but he is not discouraged and instructs his co-worker to continue rowing to try the next fishing boat, built of discarded tires where the crustacean hides. Temprano en la madrugada, con los primeros cantos de los gallos Armando se despide de su esposa e hijos para zapar a alta mar 
Durante casi toda su juventud, en las tardes tranquilas, se sentaba en el malecón a observar el mar, 
En el puerto, como testigo del tiempo está el esqueleto de un ferrocemento, que cientos de veces rompió con la quilla las olas de los Jardines de la Reina,

May, 2020.-Temprano en la madrugada, con los primeros cantos de los gallos Armando Suárez se despide de su esposa e hijos para zapar a alta mar. Los pequeños, soñolientos, le devuelven los besos y abrazos al pescador.
Durante más de 200 días, de los 365 que tiene el año, lleva la nostalgia por el espacio que deja ese ser querido que se expone a vientos y mareas. La añoranza del calor de la vida cotidiana. La familia siente el peso de la ausencia.
Muy próximo a las aguas del Caribe estaba el hogar, a solo cincuenta metros de la rivera, construido con tablas de embarcaciones encalladas en las costas sureñas, hasta que se mudaron a un nuevo apartamento a tres kilómetros de la rivera. (Leer más en esta entrada)

May, 2020.-Bajo el fuerte sol del Caribe dos hombres se desplazan en un chalán por las aguas verde azules de las Doce Leguas.
En el mar, el calor del sol, en los cuerpos de estos dos hombres, se siente aun más que en tierra. El tradicional el chapingorro[2], después del levante de cada veda de la langosta es el principal arte de pesca.
Mientras uno boga el otro pescador sostiene firme en su mano el jamo elaborado de cuerdas de nylon atado a una vara larga

[2] En el diccionario castellano chapingorro significa arte de pesca que consiste en un aro de pequeño diámetro y una red en forma de bolsa sujeta con un mango largo de madera.

May, 2020.- The request to grant the Nobel Peace Prize to the International Contingent of Doctors Specialized in Disaster Situations and Serious Epidemics Henry Reeve is joined by various scientific and political personalities, and organizations in the world, taking into account that the Cuban doctors have saved thousands of lives in recent years and face the Covid-19 with disinterest and professionalism.
The Bolivarian Circle of Paris stands out among many other organizations, because it considers that Cuban doctors are an example in favor of peace and the life of human beings. In addition, it states that since 2005 they have provided “with dedication, professionalism, altruism and solidarity” to rescue the lives of human beings on different continents from major epidemics.
This was stated by the president of that French organization, Maigualida Rivas, who emphasized that “the women and men who formed and are forming these brigades have demonstrated their vocation to provide aid to the most needy populations on the planet in difficult times, the first reason for the Bolivarian Circle of Paris joins the international campaign that advocates the Nobel for Cuban doctors “.
