Camagüey, Cuba, Feb 16.- The Camagüey Fairground, unique of its kind in the central eastern region of the country, was approved by the Council of the Administration in the territory of Camagüey as a Local Development Project, was announced in this city, whose historic center it’s a Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
The information was clarified at the meeting of the Provincial Group of Local Development Projects in which it was stated that the work is considered one of the largest magnitudes undertaken in this city and also represents an important recreational and cultural option. The venue was inaugurated on February 2nd in the context of the anniversary 505 the founding of the once Villa de Santa María del Puerto del Príncipe, today Camagüey. In the current instructional stage, there is a pavilion that has eight leasing facilities, two shops and an extensive lounge for recreation with computer media.
In the area the bridge was erected, which communicates the oldest segment with the new political-administrative center of the city and facilitates vehicular and pedestrian access to the main public spaces, among other works.
The initiative is part of the same form of the project “The city looks at its rivers”, with the aim of preserving the natural richness of the tributaries Tínima and Hatibonico, located in the village of Santa Maria del Puerto del Príncipe, with more than half a millennium of existence.
